About The Course

More and more parents are turning to Sleep Practitioners to help guide them when having sleep difficulties with their children. This programme equips you with all the techniques & knowledge to help support parents with their baby or child’s sleeping. You will learn how to approach parents in a professional and considerate way and how to effectively communicate the best methods available to them based on their individual needs.

For more information about the role of a Sleep Practitioner and earning potential, please view our Sleep Practitioner Job Description.

The programme is a mixture of 2 days classroom participation and weekly group mentoring via schedule webinars for 6 weeks where you will develop your understanding.

During the 6-week webinar mentoring, you will learn how to develop detailed sleep plans based on real life seniors faced by children and parent’s. Each week we will focus on different case studies allowing you to practice how to effectively write sleep plans; this will build your confidence, so you are ready to start working as soon as you qualify.

As part of this programme you will gain exclusive access to our private Facebook group where you can join discussions with other students and our trainers.

Who The Programme Is Suitable For

This programme is ideal for anyone looking to develop their skills further and who are passionate about helping parents and children.

The programme is regularly attended by childcare professional such as Health Practitioners, Midwifes and Nannies who are looking to add to their services. We also see parent attend who have experienced sleep difficulties with their own children and who are now keen to pass on their experience and new skills to other parents.

At the end of the programme you will receive assessment questions and have 6 weeks to complete them. We offer a 6-week mentoring programme that includes weekly scheduled webinars with our trainers who can guide you through each assessment. You can choose to complete the assessments in your own time within 6 weeks if preferred.

Your assessment will be marked by the trainer who will contact you about your results. If you successfully pass your assessments, we will request a certificate to be issued by OCN awarding body; this process should take no more than two weeks.

Extensions: In a situation where the student is not available to complete their assessment within 6 weeks since the course, the learner can put in a request for a time extension, but this must be accompanied by a valid reason for the extension

This programme draws on prior understanding and experience of baby and child sleep so learners should have significant experience of working with both babies and children.
